Sergei Slussarenko completed his PhD in Fundamental and Applied Physics in 2011 at the University of Naples Federico II (Italy). He continued his research in Naples until moving to Australia in 2013, where he joined Griffith University and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology (CQC²T).
Sergei’s research focuses on the development of novel tools for the efficient generation and control of exotic quantum states of light, as well as their application in addressing challenging tasks in quantum information science. Sergei specialises in the development of high-performance photon pair sources and sources of photonic entanglement and novel optical devices for high-efficiency optical mode manipulation, based on structured liquid crystals and polymers. His research interests include long-distance and networked quantum communication, entanglement verification protocols, quantum metrology, and quantum computing.
